2nd Favorite Show: Tadashi Shoji

Tadashi Shoji has been one of my favorite formal wear designers for about 5 years. He always has the modern girl in mind in his designs and that is often apparent on the runway. Fall 2012 was absolutely no different. Tadashi graced the runway with beautiful wearable lace details, intricate detailing, velvet draping, and gorgeous florals. True to Tadashi form he WOWed the crowed.  Shoji was inspired by Shanghai glamour for this season and it was quite apparent in his lovely detailing and shanghai inspired floral prints.
My favorite pieces were the black and nude lace pieces but I loved the collection in it's entirety!

3rd Favorite Show: Shane & Falguni Peacock

Honestly I hadn't even heard of these guys entering into fashion week but I was intrigued and went into the show with an open mind. I was BLOWN.AWAY. I was obsessed with their use of mixed media-- using feathers, sheer fabric, and geometric laser cut patterns on their garments. I was absolutely hooked by each and every garment that sauntered down the runway.

Oh and Ashanti and Michelle Williams are also fans (below) -- they showed up in the designer's duds! Words don't do it justice. Check it out.

Fashion Week: #dreamcometrue

Fashion Week was everything I had imagined it would be and more. It was my absolute dream come true to go and experience the fashion shows first hand and I kept on having to pinch myself repeatedly as I was sitting on the runways of the shows. There were so many standouts and the amount of shows and parties were dizzying so I am going to write up my top 3 here.

Although-- I do have to admit that I really did seek my biggest inspiration from the entire week from the people that I met and from the people that I spotted on the street. I met and saw so many beautiful people and so many unique styles and it completely inspired me.

#fashionweekproblems

I am obsessed with this UBER clever Kmart Fashion + SOPHOMORE NYC collaboration.  The shirt is for the Kmart concierge, the real-time service to make Fashion Week easier for fashionistas and bloggers.

The Kmart Concierge will answer the call of those tweeting out their #FashionWeekProblems. CAN'T WAIT! I almost always need a charger or band aids for my feet. :/

Girls Rule Boys Drool

We even look better in their clothes-- I met Nurit on the street today who designs for Converse for men. Her style is inspired by her work: she was wearing awesome utility boots and a boys jacket from the 90s. awesome. Love the messy bun that tops it all off.
